In 2001, The Depository Trust Company(DTC) took inventory so brokerages no longer had to hold their own inventory. When they want shares they simply borrow from DTC at a interest percentage. This gave brokerages more free capital to work with. But in MYEC'S case, DTC isn't holding shares until the chill is lifted. Therefore...whatever amount of shares the brokerage has in possession is what they are working with. OBVIOUSLY SCOTTRADE IS HAVING A PROBLEMS WITH THEIR MYEC SUPPLY!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ;^)
