If the analogy is "kicking the tires"...it would appear that every time the SEC 'kicks the tires' of a stock the 'car' blows up and burns to a crisp....eventually becoming write-off to the owner....to broaden into a metaphor.
You don't want the SEC to 'kick the tires' of your stock.
