Congratulations...if you did sell today, then you "realized" a profit. If you just watched it increase in value and did not sell yet, you have not made any money yet. You would only have an "unrealized profit". Only time money is made is "realized" profit that you have to pay taxes on when you sell, otherwise, it is not a profit....yet
