Really? Who offers the chip besides IBM?
The answer is "no one", because Power4 is IBM's proprietary technology. IBM has successfully transitioned their infrastructure to Power4, but so far, it's not clear if IBM has grown in their market share, or if Power4 is simply being bought by customers who used IBM's former proprietary technology, the RS64 III and IV.
Saying that Power4 is "years ahead" of Itanium 2 acceptance is pretty groundless. Going forward, Itanium 2 will have the industry's acceptance and the largest availability of software applications. These are simply the benefits of having a fully available industry solution.
