Not at all. It has been pretty clear for a while that I didn't think Merrifield would gain a lot of traction, and I've been also quite clear that I'm unhappy with how Intel made promises about Bay Trail on Android that it didn't keep.

I'm just in shock that Intel tried to tell us that Z3480 was faster than the Snapdragon 800, when it's pretty easy to verify that in most, non-Intel written/non-JS benchmarks that this isn't the case.

At any rate, this discussion is academic. The bottom line is that for whatever reason, whether it was performance or time to market or lack of integration, the wins didn't come at Mobile World Congress. Just WebXPRT benchmarks, a pull-in of Moorefield (wonder why?), and vague timelines for availability.

You do realize that Intel promised Merrifield in the market by Q1 2014 at Computex, right?

I follow absolutely every public presentation and slide-deck that exists, have combed through every conference call and sell-side conference over the last 3 years, and believed Intel for many years as they made many claims.

At some point, you wake up and realize, "holy cow, I should have been far more skeptical of all of these claims!"

I'm just giving my views on things, free-of-charge, on these message boards. I do suspect, though, that once my iHub subscription is up, I will most likely stop posting here. But until then, there are enough knowledgeable, friendly posters on here that make it worth dealing with the criticism from people like you.
