The float is what is considered available shares to the public. It is the number of outstanding shares minus those held by insiders and the amount that are restricted. On the Ihub quote page, if you slide your mouse over any of the boxes, (outstanding, authorized, etc...) it gives you a pop up box with a quick definition of each. Kind of a quick reference/definition.
