JD,Yes a Bank transfer..You should be able to set it up by Tuesday.When you Fund your New account use your Checking Account online.

Just follow Etrades new account sign up. I did years ago.

They are very helpful on the phone too.

Unfortunately on the sub pennies you wait 3 days to trade after the transfer, unless you have a margin account I believe. At least with scottrade. GLTA

Depending on how much you transfer, you can have the money instantly available for investment. However if you invest those funds you won't be able to sell until the money clears which normally will take 3 business days. If you have a margin account which I'm guessing you don't have because your a beginner, you can have funds available immediately...
