Actually a 10 tp 1 at a dollar. Would bring the share price to 10 dollars and your shares would be reduced. This is to correct your senerio. The fear is that if toxic price drifts down to your reduced shares.
why reverse split? a forward split reduces the price and yes with more shares, but my thinking is the lower the price you have rewarded prior investors with the forward split and you are inviting new investors with a lower post split price
