No, IMHO. What it is, is a combination of
1) the SP was inappropriately depressed after a secondary due to misinterpretations (same as the last one which totally reversed in less than two weeks (and SGMO and NVAX had secondaries at the same time that did almost exactly the same thing for much the same reasons) This one would likely have quickly reversed as well except that coincidentally the market tanked, killing any recovery for at least awhile.
2) because of the market conditons, hedges were looking for easy targets and NNVC was in a weak position. Plus it's early biotech which most investors don't understand well so there' lots of potential for pure bluff.
The attackers have not raise a single issue that has not already previously been discussed here to the satisfaction of longs. So, no, they don't know anything we don't. THey are just trying to prey on the weak and vulnerable because that's the way they make their living. (and don't take it personally. They'll prey on ANYONE that's weak or vulnerable.)
The defense is to KNOW WHAT YOU OWN Those that had done thorough DD knew it was all just BS, distortions and intimidation. Same princple as the big kids (because they were held back) in jr high school shaking the little kids down in the halls for their lunch money. You just had to stand your ground and make it clear that they'd not get YOUR lunch money without a major fight and they'd leave you alone. The key was to realize that the fight was not just about today's lunch money, but tomorrow's and the next week and every lunch to come. That made it worth fighting for. Bullies are cowards. Make sure that they get hurt in the process and they won't come back.
