Afternoon Wrap: Volatile week, mixed results : Volatile action over the last several days with today's reversal off the early low leaving the Dow and S&P 500 higher for the week (Nasdaq 100/Comp slightly lower, Russell 2000 and S&P 400 off roughly 1%). Top performing sectors today include: Tobacco +1.5%, Oil Service +1.2%, Chemical +1%, Insurance +1%, Railroad +1%, Defense +0.8% (new 52-wk high). Technically we saw the S&P 500 bounce near its 20 wk ema, the Dow near its 50 day ema and the key Semi Sector (SOX) recover off its 20 day ema again.
