This process will never fly in US does not meet the minimal manipulation requirements because of the acid being use to revert the cells back into embryonic cells.. It is a break thru but totally different from what svfc minimal manipulation process does... Svfc still has huge advantage over this process!

Even if we look past the fact that this method uses ACID as opposed to minimal manipulation in Intellicell's case -- it's just one study. One study means nothing in medicine. Before this technique is proven truly safe and effective, more studies will have to be done, that's at least another year. Even then, since it obtains cells equal to embryonic, the whole thing will most likey stay in academic circles only. But even if some company did want to adopt it commercially, add to that another year or two of commercialization R&D... And they would STILL have to jump through all of the legal hurdles because the process is far from minimal manipulation. So, best case scenario, this process is a soft competitor to Intellicell in 5 years from now - does that sound like something that might impact PPS on Monday?

Lil John read the cnn article in more detail about this other method of creating stem cells:

"There are, of course, some caveats.

For now, the STAP cell procedure has only been demonstrated in cells from young mice. The effectiveness in humans, and the risks, are unknown.

Researchers have not yet shown how STAP embryonic-like stem cells compare with bona fide embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells, Karp said."

My comment:

Looks like SVFC is light years ahead in the stem cell creation process than this other process since they have already tried them in humans many times successfully.

Is there a possibility that this other method could become popular some day? Maybe... But right now SVFC is the only company to successfully use stem cells in humans...

Your comments are strongly biased in that u have admitted to be short against SVFC in the past of course and my feeling is that u have a large short position and want to cover at a lower price... Am I right?

No...not even a long shot LilJon...first of all it's like comparing apples to oranges...the articles are referring to "reprogramming cells/iPS cells" in which the method is estimated (note not proven) to be five times faster than "other means of reprogramming cells/iPScells" and also states some caveats;

For now, the STAP cell procedure has only been demonstrated in cells from young mice. The effectiveness in humans, and the risks, are unknown.
Researchers have not yet shown how STAP embryonic-like stem cells compare with bona fide embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells, Karp said.
Also, although the study was "rigorous" and "well-controlled," it did not demonstrate exactly why the stress on the cells caused them to become STAP cells, Karp said.
As with everything in science, more research is required to confirm the findings and learn more about the implications.
http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/29/health/stem-cell-discovery/

Again need to note that the articles refer to a faster means of reprogramming IPS or pluripotent cells:

On average, she says, 25% of the cells survive the stress and 30% of those convert to pluripotent cells — already a higher proportion than the roughly 1% conversion rate of iPS cells, which take several weeks to become pluripotent.

SVFC US Patented Stem Cell Technology validated by Millipore!

Millipore studies: [0013] Figures 1A-E, 2A-E, 3A-E, 4A-E and 5A-E contain the results of Milipore studies that compare the stromal vascular fraction cells isolated according to the inventive ultrasonication methods vis-a-vis methods that use collagenase. The results therein show that the subject ultrasonication protocol results in about 10-fo!d more viable cells than comparable adipose samples (same amount of adipose tissue) which were treated with an enzyme that breaks down collagen (collagenase). The results therein further show that the inventive methods result in the same cell population and cell types as collagenase isolation procedures, suggesting that the inventive methods preserve the integrity of all the desired stromal vascular fraction cells, and especially the cell types identified in the Figures.

Article showing SVFC has the competitive edge and patented stem cell technology will be the golden standard:) http://seekingalpha.com/instablog/19605391-nick-williams/2545481-who-will-win-the-stem-cell-race

Quote:" However, if autologous stem cells are harvested, processed, and implanted without the concerning enzymatic process, and if the entire procedure is done in only a short time at the bedside point of care, it will cost far less than existing methods and can save the patient and the physician a great deal of time."

Quote:"There is also the yet established safety of the enzymes used to separate the stem cells from fat being potentially harmful to the patient."

****SVFC Technology Stem Cell Technology does not require enzymes, is cost effective, clinically safe, and produces 10X count and greater number of cells.

SVFC will be the leader in the area of Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine!

Answer to who will win the stem cell race?.....SVFC...of corse!

I don't fully understand it but the article says it is years away from any help in humans. Only been tested in mice. SVFC is here and now
