IMPORTANT POINT ALERT!!!! 9) The NUVOLA Streams Sub-10Mbps & has been tested to deliver "near-lossless" 4K @ 6Mbps.
As an aside This is also IMPORTANT for a VARIETY of reasons.
First, the average U.S. internet speed is UNDER 10Mbps. Second, even Smart TV's don't stream this low. Third, streaming speed can be expensive. Fourth, streaming speed may not be available in your area.
So, connecting the dots from a BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE, if 90% of the population averages 8mpbs & Smart TV's stream 4K at 15-30Mpbs there will be VERY VISIBLE PROBLEMS in both delivery & picture quality. And the ONLY company that is currently STREAMING 4K is NanoTech.
Also, as faster rates become more available later this year due to newly available technologies NTEK will still likely be able to stream lower than anyone.
Keep in mind that if a consumer can upgrade their internet service to accommodate 4K bandwidth needs they may; but at higher MONTHLY costs!! HIGHER MONTHLY BILLS!!
On another IMPORTANT & OVERLOOKED ISSUE: Piracy.
Download devices like Redray & Sony are not favorable 1) Sony does NOT work on ANY OTHER BRAND (& not EVEN on ALL their OWN Models, for one) 2) REDRAY, which carries a $1,750.00 price tag, presents a problem for CONTENT PROVIDERS.
Mainly because if you can download a film, chances are MUCH greater that you can store files locally & PIRATE CONTENT!!!
No one in FILM wants a re-hash of what the Music Industry went through with a DECADE OF LOST REVENUES & RAMPANT PIRACY.
But, NTEK via their nVidia chip, (as I understand the responses from my inquiries into them) & other safeguards relating to delivery, HAVE SUPERIOR PRIVACY PROTECTIONS in place!!!
There is more to cover,...but the bottom-line is that there IS ZERO competition for NTEK at this time. And, if & when we see some, it is important to understand we are talking about 1.7BILLION OTT devices by 2017, 20mm 4K TV's being sold Globally in 2014, over 5mm 4K TV's currently in use & that the market is VAST. As well as the aforementioned distinguishing characteristics.
MOREOVER, NTEK's strategy is clearly a well-rounded & wise MULTI-Pronged effort to CAPTURE as MUCH 4K Content as they can render, remaster, digitize & get under their banner.
So, they'll make money on: 1) 4K Studios 2) Upgrades 3) UltraFLIX 4K Subscription Service (Customers) 4) The Nuvola Device 5) 4K TV Panel-sales (& as part of 4K Total Solutions' Packages) 6) Other IPTV Channels 7) 4K Special Features (PPV/Live Events/Streaming in 4K) 8) Nuvola placement (as an IPTV Channel Pre-loaded to retail)
9) From Advertising a) Websites, banner ads, etc. (if they decide to do so) b) Data-mining c) Cross Promotional sales - Using products like their NanoTweet Product, & MUCH MORE!!!
There is FAR MORE NanoTech can do & will likely tackle. But, the bottom line for THESE 3 Divisions who are playing a role here (Communications with NanoTweet, IPTV Media & "4K Studios") is convergence & leverage. OFFERING customers a COMPLETE PACKAGE...
Not JUST a 4K TOTAL SOLUTIONS PACKAGE for Consumers (you & I); BUT also for the FILM INDUSTRY, STUDIOS, INDEPENDENTS, etc. NTEK is providing a 4K TOTAL SOLUTIONS for them as well.
Isn't that AMAZING?!!!
And we haven't really discussed incorporating Original Content from the GAMING-LABS Division. Considered Glasses-FREE 3D, or whatever else NanoTech has planned.
