Your friend is misinformed. P53 is the "angel of death" search for the last 20 years and never been tested on humans. It will be years before human clinical trials and, if ever, FDA approval. P53 continues to be a side show to the main R&D of Immunotherapy. Merck is still tinkering with P53 as is Roche and GSK. However the main thrust now is immunotherapy and perhaps one day in the distant future, if ever, P53 will take center stage as a possibility.
