"Instantly cancelled", what kind of trade were you performing (fill or kill?, all or none?)?

And, when you say "buy", do you mean buy at the ask?

Sometimes people say buy, and they mean they were trying to buy below the ask. Or, they say sell and they were trying to sell at the ask.

If your order was "instantly cancelled" it might have more to do with your brokerage firm than anything else.
