I was feeling they would release another one soon that would tell us some really exciting news ....

NNVC had enough money before to carry it forward several years. Something happened to create a need for more money. The explanation is in the PR. They intend to move Dengue and other targets forward faster. I suspect that's because early indications not yet PRed (because they aren't yet up to that level) indicate that the platform is working very well and it therefor makes sense to move the other targets ahead as quickly as possible. If there had been indication of any problems with the technology the response would be to slow down on the other targets until the problems were resolved (you don't want to move a lot of targets forward only to have that work made irrelevant because of some adjustment that needed to be made to the technology.

So my interpretation is that this cash raising at this time is a good indication of progress and that good news is "in the pipeline".
