Ayep! Riding my bike down the GIANT Elm tree lined streets, like a canopy over my head, and stopping in with friends to old men's garages to watch them clean the catch from last nights fishing. They'd be listening to a ball game on the radio and we'd be listening to them, and watching. I'd run over to my Grandparents house and get a whole bottle of Coke to myself and a few Oreos and watch Matt Dillon. You can't convey that feeling to kids today. Only a very few real farm kids get to know that kind of life nowadays.
Compare this to the tales of futurism. What an empty lot they lead. We'd be better off without most of the crap they've come up with. But we can't go back necessarily. But we can go forward with these objectives in mind. Technology doesn't HAVE to dehumanize us. That's a choice WE make.
The real crux of the problem isn't even a conscious thought with most yet.
It's OUR orientation that produces outcome.
