This drive (much smaller than those seen in the previous photo set) has been standing for some time - note the dust on the walls - and even has some timber support in the background.

If we're looking at the same thing, that isn't a timber support in the background. That actually is some sort of light reflection from the picture. You can see it is translucent. I also had it confirmed that this is all part of the new shaft they are sinking, so this area has not been standing for some time. Could the dust you noted be caused from nearby blasting in the shaft?

In sinking the shaft, they have encountered mineralization on the way down and I believe this is one area where they have followed that mineralization to a certain degree which explains why it is smaller.
