Until Washington and/or Colorado secede from the Union, their laws are subordinate to those of the federal government. The same is true for those states that have approved marijuana for medical use. The feds have shown a willingness to enforce laws in a most capricious manner - which is generally true of all vice law. When I was a young schoolboy, the only man or boy in town who didn't know where Irene's fun palace was was the sheriff. He did, however, seem to know how to profit mightily from this unspeakable and invisible horror.

Whether laws will be enforced is an entirely different question.

I will say no more. This poor dog was beaten to death long ago.
