The UniMark Group has gone sour on the frozen juice business. At one time, the company manufactured juice and sliced fruit, in addition to growing citrus (mainly lemons). However, a series of sales from 2000 to 2003 reconfigured UniMark as an agriculture company operating 7,000 acres of lemon groves in northeastern Mexico, on which it grows more than 600,000 lemon trees. Unimark's brands include Crest JR, Rio Pride and Sierra Gold. The company sells its fruit through subsidiary Sierra Foods to markets in Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, and the US. Cardinal Growth owns a controlling interest in UniMark.
