MM's make lots of money shorting penny stocks. You and I, of course can't do it. Many years ago, I knew a guy that became a Market Maker. He became rather wealthy trading stocks. He tired of the Market Maker scene & quit his job, moved back to the Midwest and started trading stocks. It wasn't long before he realized he could not make enough money trading without shorting penny stocks. He ended up moving back to New York & got a job as a Market Maker again.
