I agree that it needs to be one big mofo of a catalog.
However, I've learned one thing about Apple. If they are going to do something, they do it right. So I'm looking forward to see what they've come up with.
Apple also has pretty good inroads with the people who make this Kazaa, Napster stuff happen. They are dabbling in open source technologies and Apple has always been thought of as "cool" by nearly everybody. I'm not aware of any groups of hackers out there that loathe Jobs the way they do Gates...
In other words, I think Apple, being Apple, is going to get a lot more respect and support from the various computer groups out there, that are largely responsible for the illegal stuff. And potentially tap a market that many thought was untappable.
It's going to be interesting. Steve Jobs is one of my all-time heros.
