What did I tell you in my last post? The code name
Montecito was originally used to refer to a 90 nm dumb
shrink of Madison. That is what is being referred to in
that article. Development of that product was dropped
in late 2002 and the Montecito code name was reused
for a latter, much more advanced device, a dual CMP,
multithreaded processor based on a third generation
IPF core microarchitecture. The introduction of that
device was delayed by about 1.5 quarters.
Your allegation that the IPF design currently known as
Montecito slipped from 2004 is pure and utter nonsense.
