The company has nothing to hide.

If PVEC has nothing to hide, why would its representatives ban someone's IP address from simply reading its website's public discussion forum? Please give me one legitimate reason for taking such action as well as for even tracking IP addresses of non-registered "guests" who have never posted anything.
