That is terrible news Orvie. Thank you for posting though.

Why would the 706 be kicked out of the hangar by another aircraft?

Is the C-check not paid for completely?

I understand you may not know those answers, they are not really directed at you. But this you can answer.

How long does a D check take on a 747?

Thank you.

The N706BL will be returned to the hangar within 3-4 days. Another plane needed an emergency repair (which Orvie conveniently did not mention) and needed the hangar for a few days. This is not even worth discussing anymore.

C-check is ON SCHEDULE, and Baltia does not need to undergo the same "D-check" that is written on Wikipedia or whatever website....They do NOT need to do their last check before they fly! They can do their version of a "D check" after they've began flying.

Why is this even a cause for concern? Our focus is on certification, not some maintenance check after they're already flying.

While the May scheduling may or may not be true (I'd LOVE to see your source for that information), the N706BL is not being stored outside. It will be returned for the continuation of C-check within 3-4 days.

Steady Progress On N706BL. Should Be Ready Soon!!

12/26/20013 - 706 has lost hangar priority to a scheduled aircraft

The sticky referred to above (in red) is from 2013. orvie has provided 30 updates since that post. Perhaps we could update with a post from the last 7 months.

Such as this from orvie yesterday:

"Steady progress on 706. It should be ready very soon."
