Was clear as day to me. It's not Bordynuik playing the strawman word game.

"I am stepping up the feed rates on shifts with experienced staff and running at lower feedrates on new staff"

Sounds abundantly clear to me. Feed rates for new staff is "lower." Word game? No. A word game would be if Bordynuik claimed we should use the feed rates of only the seasoned staff as the "bare minimum conservative." Luckily Bordynuik isn't that childish.

I don't think that staff ability would be the bottleneck in a manufacturing system of this sort. They are there to maintain certain minimum feed rates, and to safely operate the processor. I don't think there is any skill that would be involved in maintaining a certain feed rate.

How bout that being an accurate description of the situation.

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

Beginners don't drive a car as well as experienced drivers.

New operators of a complex machine don't operate it as close to performance limits as experienced operators.
