Ariad Pharma: I find it intriguing what a fine line there is between being the best Biotech CEO of the year, and the worst Biotech of the year.

I think you have to look at how well they performed given the cards they were dealt. My business is off 15% this year. I could blame the economy but know my performance was just as (if not more) instrumental. There have been years where the economy was off and I did really well.
I think Ariad could have mitigated the situation with the FDA. In retrospect, it appears they attempted to go too far too fast and adequately respect risk.
