No this time it's for real. I just saw in a movie last week that they hired Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson to get this kicked off.

Kidding aside, the pressure is mounting to get out of this stock at around this level. These stories and others like them will continue thru 2014 and with very little 'good' to counter act them the stock will remain range bound for the foreseeable future. There will be plenty of time to buy back in toward the end of 2014 even if buying back in means a $27 entry point.

This is 100% pure bullshit

i would not be that hasty dismissing this. google designs its own network switches, nand controllers with fpgas, x86 motherboards. they have a decent number of people who know how to make socs/asics. it is not beyond the realm of possibility for them to design or have designed a fully custom (for them) arm soc suitable for their server farms.

as to arm for macbooks, i think you should consider whether the rumored 12 inch ipad will have an a8 or x86 in it. what is exactly the difference between a 12 inch ipad with a bundled keyboard and an macbook air ? bloomberg's timing might be early but that is the deciding factor as far as I am concerned. what cpu will the large ipad have?

I think it is very unlikely Apple will move from x86 for the MacBook - but I wouldn't be so sure about Google. AMD were saying something similar some months ago

and more to the point Facebook is contributing to the Linaro project

Of course it could be they just want to squeeze Intel's prices!

How would you know?

Google bought Agnilux some time ago. It was founded by PA Semi folks. As you may know, PA Semi was acquired by Apple and their CPUs aren't too shabby.
