Top one is explanatory imo__ What do President Obama and a bunch of teenagers have in common?

It turns out they like to appear in selfies at memorial services.

Denmark's Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt appeared to hold out her smartphone for a three-way selfie at a service honoring Nelson Mandela today in Johannesburg. Obama, who sat to her left, and British Prime Minister David Cameron, who sat to her right, leaned in close for the snap.

Meanwhile, a serious-looking Michelle Obama looked like she was not at all interested in taking part in the pic. The first lady was captured in photographs with an icey stare, though it remained unclear whether they were taken before or after the selfie.

The selfies at funeral trend was popularized thanks to a Tumblr site that had since shut down; however, the owner couldn't resist resurrecting it today for one more post.

cripes.. to me it doesn't even look like she is frowning at them ... to me it looks like it's something beyond Obama's shoulder '- - back... but then .............people gotta talk .. makes for clicks ..... wonder if the bbc has this ..lol.......... oh Yeah and I also saw that .. .everyone is mad' at Obama because HE omg, shook Raul Castro's hand . .he WILL go to Hell for that one! ... ;)

.. they could have been sequenced to create the impression of a contrived
meaning behind the looks, all the fantasy about which is some people's idea of fun ..

An Analysis: Is Michelle Obama Really Throwing Shade at Denmark's 'Gucci' Helle?

Alexander Abad-Santos
Associated Press

At the memorial service for Nelson Mandela today, Michelle Obama was photographed looking not amused with her husband and his friendly relationship with the blonde prime minister from Denmark, so much so that she may have switched seats with him. A lot of that is us reading and creating some magic presidential fan-fic, and part of it stems from people finding something fun from the very serious event.

Let's be clear right now and say the faces Michelle Obama makes — and whether they're directed at fair-haired PM Helle Thorning-Schmidt — was not the most important thing to happen at the Mandela service today (for more on that click here .. http://www.thewire.com/global/2013/12/liveblog-nelson-mandela-memorial-service/355953/ ). But it was kinda fun. That said, here's our completely unscientific analysis and explainer on Gucci-Gate:

and further to your valid technicality "and technically, the pics aren't selfies" .. Mandela's funeral is
not until Dec. 15, too many in the media say they are funeral pics, your first link recognized that fact ..
