Berkowitz buys fannie, not for retail, but for the benefit of his investors, of course.
However, this does not stop retail investors from profiting from Berkowitz entry into fnma.

The river flows downstream, and we determine which way that is flowing.

Berkowitz showed us which way the river is flowing. We need only hop on, and need not paddle upstream.

Its okay, that Berkowitz protects his own first. We get that. We do not expect Berkowitz to look out for our interests. However, that does not stop us from getting on board the boat headed downstream. So, get on the USS Berkowitz, with the destination of (long fannie) wealth. All aboard!!!
