I highly doubt that, though possible it may be.

"If" that did happen, there is no doubt we would scream to $20+ in a day.

I mean, let's think this through.

Why would the government release the GSEs immediately on their initial response? I mean, the only ones that can release the GSEs is the FHFA, and, do you think Demarco will release them without high-up (presidential) or wide-spread congressional approval to do so?

I mean, he's not going to do it JUST to settle a court case, without the OK from others who could create ramifications that completely destroy his life.

Demarco may do things many do not agree with or like, but he is not an idiot.

This will play through until we see the government pretty much unanimously say 'their good to go!'.

I think watt will be the one to release them... though I am interested in the way it is performed.

Would love to see this happen, but highly unlikely at this early state of litigation, and just wishful thinking at this point. Nice sentiment though.

I can say with 100% confidence that that will not happen.

The settlement could happen, in fact, its likely to happen, we just dont know when. Settlements have occurred, or are in process in many of the fnma lawsuits. The government will likely follow suit, since they did, in fact, take property belonging to fannie shareholders.
