Yes, but the order in which these events occur is determinative of whether pps stays at current levels. If R/S is to come first, before acquisitions, then no wonder everybody is panic-selling, because shares will no longer be worth anything and who is to say pps will continue to go up after R/S.
IMO you seem a bit over-optimistic about the sequence of events!
Plus the amount of people willing to play this any longer since this is going to R/S!
