Targiniq® is NOT an anti-abuse drug. Targiniq,is a co-drug for OIC, (opioid induced constipation) relief. The Oxycodone and Naloxone in a 2:1 ratio are released together. The idea being that Naloxone will block the intestinal receptors from Oxycodone which hinders peristaltic intestinal movements. Pain management, as also euphoric abuse, would be thru the spinal and brain receptors.

Naloxone is easily defeated by "street junkies" as it is in Suboxone®. Naloxone's very short half-life and high aqueous solubility vs opioids such as Oxycodone, Buprenorphine etc, are taken advantage of by "street junkies".
