I do disagree with that. I think it applies to a certain mentality on the board (which I think everyone knows) just as Intel fanbois. It's a "higher" level of communication that in Friedland's "Flat World" simplifies communication. It may even make it to Webster's.
I don't think you'll find it's as offensive as you think. It's not directed, at least in my case, I've never called anyone a 'droid, I've simply referred to the "personality of such", to anyone in particular.
Perhaps you could include these two adjectives without direct implication?
