Is he really changing directions. He is in the fashion retail business and expanding his product line. How is that changing directions. You cant just sell leggings forever and not expand and grow.

But that is exactly the excuse Danny is giving! If he's claiming that eBAY hurt BRAV's business, why would that change now?

I don't assume Danny's excuses to be correct before analyzing things.
Danny's excuse about clothing markets being down was incorrect, and I've already said that.

I also don't believe it if Danny or anyone else says eBay is suddenly becoming more competitive in the leggings market, especially competing against fashionable, quality leggings made in the USA. I might believe that they could undercut BRAV for more budget-minded shoppers, buying more ordinary leggings.

Even if eBay did compete there, they'd be less likely to compete against VivaVuva, for reasons I stated before. I'm guessing that women are less likely to talk about where they get their leggings from than where they get other parts of a fashionable outfit, so they'll be more likely to choose VivaVuva over eBay for fashionable clothes than they'll be to choose OL or WOL over budget sites like eBay. VV is selling an image as much as anything.

Also look at the way VV has a "style" page where people can make their own styles and subscribe to others' styles, in a social networking way. You won't get that on eBay.

Oh, and people DO buy some things for themselves during the holidays, and certainly the other 10 to 11 months of the year. What % of a typical woman's wardrobe do you think others bought for them? I doubt it's very much, so I don't think your gift giving argument would have much impact.
