Look at the contract between MJNA and CannaVest

The contract between MJNA and CannaVest includes a clause that specifies that MJNA cannot compete with CannaVest

Seller expressly agrees that for a period of five (5) years following the execution of this Agreement, it will not, directly or indirectly, engage in or own a part or all of any business which is the same as, similar to, or competitive with the business of Buyer.

Dixie's products may possibly have been grandfathered, but once CannaVest began to produce its Cibdex and Cibaderm products, the writing was on the wall.
