A few near term problems for gold as I see it are:
1) Tax loss selling in the PM shares
2) Vulnerability to a stock market correction that would pull gold down also
3) Lower gasoline prices mean lack of inflation interest in PMs


There are plenty of positives including the price and the continued QE which will be brought into focus with Yellen's confirmation hearings. But I still think gold needs a catalyst to move it substantially higher. It doesn't hurt to accumulate PM shares for the long term at these prices even though I think we still have more to go on the downside.
