I have many problems with that article from the Kenyan Star, and also the other one headed "Kenya: Tullow Operations Resume After New Deal Is Reached" in the same paper. One wonders what the editorial policy is with regard to printing fantasy and grossly ill-informed speculation. Many Kenyans in outlying communities who see those articles might well assume they are fact, and not ridiculous fantasy. Tullow and AOI are not real oil companies at all, and are actually secretly burying toxic nuclear waste in the bush? For ****'s sake.
If there are further demonstrations against TLW and AOI activities in the region, based on the superstition and fear that might arise from those articles, then TLW and AOI should sue the Star for printing grossly defamatory speculation and put it out of business. Further, TLW and AOI should not make the mistake of letting those allegations go unanswered.
