burg--Good question. I don’t know, but the more I read about the abuses of naked shorting the more it becomes apparent that the micro, small, and mid-caps were an absolute cauldron of naked shorting in the past. The SEC doesn't bother with the lil' guys. From what the attorney in the article states, as well as what others are stating, now that the banks and some of the big boys are coming out of the woods, the SEC essentially has called off the dogs again for the thousands of little stocks that are being shorted, sometimes to death. I dunno.
The article referred to was published in the October 2013 issue, so it’s not like he’s talking about ancient history.
It’s also interesting that, in part of the article that I didn’t even quote, reference is made to “buy-writes” as on of the many ways the manipulators escape the SHO requirements for having to cover their short bets.
I may be off-base here, but one of the things that seems extremely strange to me that the shorts are believed to have to be controlling some 20-plus MILLION shares of Vrng. Where the heck are they getting that many?
