Lenovo is using the best chip for the job for the price. Bay Trail isn't even ready for Android yet, so it wasn't an option.

Lenovo appears to be continuing it's move away from Intel with these new tablets (it was phones last month).

Lenovo has had a series of tablets with Mediatek processors for almost 2 years now. They were one of the first movers, in fact, with the IdeaTab A1000, A3000, and S6000 lines. The new Yoga seems like an extension to these existing lines, as opposed to a jab at Intel.
