Mkoch3 re big Tobacco's plans...

the usa consumer, at least a decent % of them, can be drawn pretty easily into mass produced products by big oligopoly players.

I wouldnt underestimate the ability of big tobacco, via distribution channels, large capital & advertising know how, to be able to effectively sell pot to large #'s of people.

However, as you point out, pot users to a decent degree can be a picky group who will demand speciality niche strands. Their ethos psychologically isnt exactly like the beer drinker (not even the microBeer drinker) nor the more busy on the run coffee shop drinker. Infact, I would see them perhaps more like the speciality wine consumer.

the reality is this type of consumer will be its own unique animal somewhere between the microBeer hipster, the artsy coffee shop lodger & the snob speciality wine connoisseur. b/c of that, big tobacco will indeed have a harder time penetrate their niche tastes.

that said though, as I stated before, a decent % of the masses though seem ripe to buy McHerb mass quantity dope. What will be interesting to see & will have a lot to do w/ how its distributed & marketed, is where they will partake w/ the product. Will it mainly be in homes or will a indi/coffeshop envir emerge in wh/ dope smokers flock to?
