Yes, the extended life is one reported benefit of the new packaging. Per this poster, he's implying customers will not pay extra for it.

What about the reports that another benefit of the packaging is reduced breakage of plates. Seems that some have reported up to 20% breakage with conventional packaging, and Nano has reported x number of plates shipped with NO BREAKAGE. This would then indicate that the REAL COST of usable plates is 20% higher than the purchase+shipping price for conventional packaging. Hence customers should be able to pay at least 15% MORE for Nano's plates and packaging, and still realize a cost savings of 5% for usable plates.
