Just doing research. I've seen the engines and components at a few events (though not at the Cyclone facility). I've read their web postings on different sites and seen the videos. I've read every one of their patents, carefully and repeatedly. From all that you can build up a pretty accurate picture. If you are working in a closely related field you can infer much of the rest based on reportage or propaganda. When it is inconsistent you have to start looking for the contradictions and logical inferences...for example, the revalation that OSU had upped their longest dyno run greatly after being on the job 6 weeks makes it obvious the engines had never received thorough dyno testing. No guesswork there, the number of hours just doesn't add up.
