iWeb book

I think you'll find you don't need one. I've been noodling in it this week and agree with the amazingly consistent reviews which tend to boil down to two things:

(1) It's elegantly simple. Or as the most recent review said: "bone simple". A true no-manual app if ever there was one. It is by far the most transparent, easiest to use iApp -- yes, simpler even than iTunes.
(2) Part of why it's so beautifully simple is because it's very narrow in scope and keeps the number of user choices at the core to a bare minimum. A less nice way of putting it is to say it's quite limited. The app lets you do plenty of fiddling around the edges in the form of things like font and point size selection, colors, photo rotations, etc. But that's mostly just fiddling and spit and polish.

Most modern apps you can spend hours and hours just wandering through. In iWeb, you'll be done almost before you've begun. It is not what one might call a "flexible" app. But what it gives up in the way of choices and options, it naturally gains in simplicity.

IMO, it's a really great beginner's tool, and while the more sophsticated types who tend to write for affinity magazines or publish high profile weblogs might find it too simple for their tastes, I think the average Mac user is going to really appreciate it. In terms of which iApps get launched and used by the most people, I think iWeb will instantly leapfrog GarageBand, iMovie and iDVD.

Enjoy.
