Hey WBMW, what's your take on dual processor Opteron servers being faster at SpecIntRate than any other dual system.

With a version 1.0 CPU, version 1.0 chipset, version 1.0 bios, version 1.0 operating system, running software optimized for other processors.

Faster than the fastest Itanium.

Faster than the fastest Xeon.

Faster than the fastest Alpha.

Faster than the fastest Sparc.

Maybe instead of pissing away 10 years and $5+ Billion dollars on a new instruction set, Intel should have spent a little time re-thinking the single memory bus for multiple CPUs idea.

Oh well, too late now.

I plan to sell my shares as soon as the initial Opteron news passes, because there is little chance that AMD will be able to ramp the product for revenue before more bad news floats this way.

I suggest you consider selling in the money (ITM) CCs. For example you can get ~$3.10 for a May $5 call. If you get called away then fine, you got your money plus a little extra. If AMD drops you are protected to below $5.

You could even get ~$0.90 for a May $7.50. Do the math...

The Junes will open Monday morning and will offer still more opportunities...

VIA K8T400M isn't a motherboard.

Any conclusion taken from the tests done is about as useful as saying sam clemmons did the testing so you can trust the numbers.

Until you know the brand, model, board rev, bios rev, os, chipset driver rev. and all the periphrials involved you can't reproduce the test and you can't relate it to any other known system.

Relativity is a key concept. You don't have to be discussing the speed of light to have a need for a frame of reference.
