Hynix knows it will lose the patent trial in March with a high probability.

Hynix also knows that the CA17200 charges will probably be thrown out with summary judgments. CA17200 is a California public policy statute which was not really intended antitrust issues. CA17200 was weakened by the legislature a while ago because of its misuse. Infineon attempted to use this in Virginia and it got nowhere. Hynix revealed in the case management that it did not know yet how to try phase III.

Micron is now in settlement tls with Rambus. They will screw both Hynix and Rambus given any opportunity as we have seen in the DOJ antitrust case.

At least one settlement is highly probable and should be rapid.

Re. The best thing I heard on the CC

I would add the new patents released in Europe. Sounds like they have some meat to them.

Got a little more info on the AMD deal. It seems like Rambus gave them an extremely good deal. Now we know why. Rambus wants to get a foot in AMD's door. Rambus wants to help them with their high speed communication/interface problems.

We got a really lame answer to the question of which patents read on flash memory. Their answer: the high speed interface patent. LOL, that's as bad as it gets.
