I don't know if that will happen this time around or not. It will depend on a couple of things in my opinion:
1) Financing - Raise funds via selling shares on open market or through private placement (or some other method). If they raise privately what is the deal they made? Maybe it's going to be a mix of selling shares and private money. Or maybe all private and they just need to boost the share price in order to have to give up less shares...I'm good with that.
2) Promoter and overall promotion - If they do sell shares to raise some or all of the money who is the promoter (IR firm), how long does the main promo last (a short 2-3 day promo won't get it done), news/updates released during the promotion.
3) Expanding on the news front - To reach a dollar (imo) they have to announce future deals they are working on or in talks over. They have a whole lot of unused land and could announce that they are in talks with the same buyer, or another (maybe Nicaragua) for a deal 3x-18x the size of this one and the stock easily goes past $1 (imo). Just announcing that they are in talks for a deal this large would explode this after proving they are legit with the signing of this one.
If the company doesn't get too carried away with how many shares they let out into the open, then I am confident this stock reaches a dollar one day. What day? I don't know. There are too many variables, but I can tell you that I have shares I plan to sell (immediate profit), shares I plan to trade on the way up and shares that I am holding for that dollar(s)+ range.
It's really hard to say where this goes with all the blue sky above and a lot will depend on the info above, especially the IR firm.
My guess is that this first deal quickly leads to additional deals (not done deals, but in the works deals) whether with this buyer or another (not sure if they can sell across the border or not, but I know some of their land is near it though).
The great thing is this first deal makes all talks of future working deals legit in traders/investors minds. If someone whispers that they are in talks for a $900,000,000 deal on 2100 acres (this one is 300mil on 700 acres) there is absolutely no reason to think that it won't happen and the market will respond by gobbling up shares and skyrocketing this stock...very exciting!
And I have every reason to believe that future deals would have been discussed already to some degree or another with how much time has been put into this one.
There is imo no way the buyer hasn't already asked/discussed with the company something regarding all their other land and the possibility of creating additional wind farms.
Costa Rica has too large of a shortage of electricity for the buyer to have not in some way inquired about the other acreage the company has available for the exact same type of project...Only larger on the second go around!
All that said, I hope you're right and we do get to a dollar fast! It could happen and the best part is we are all going to find out really soon just how high this puppy goes on this first, small deal...(big, Big, BIG money, but small compared to what future deals may bring this company).
