#123656 RE: VeeCee #123653

Amazon and Google will not switch to Intel any time soon on existing products.

Well here's the thing. Like Samsung, Amazon and Google have multiple product lines, and they are likely open to using multiple vendors. However, Amazon just refreshed their line with the HDX series, and Google is rumored to be launching the Nexus 5 and New Nexus 10 tomorrow, with Snapdragon processors.

Looks like Intel's next shot will be in Holiday 2014 - likely with 14nm Cherrytrail processors.

Qualcomm is going to be an aggressive competitor for these product lines. Initially, Intel's best chance at getting share is by winning against the weakest of the tablet ecosystem, and getting a foot in the door in terms of market share. Bay Trail and low-cost Medfield/Clovertrail+ systems will give them more credibility.
