I've worked in IT support for years, and have been disrespected many times. I always kept my cool. It comes with the territory. Do I enjoy it - no. But I do realize that customers are paying my salary. Doesn't give them the right to treat me like crap, but I always remained professional. Without customers, there is no revenue. No revenue = I don't have a job. Customers do pay my salary, even though it's indirect.
