Chris Shumaker joins Foote Cone & Belding Worldwide as Executive Vice President/Chief Growth Officer it was announced by Steve Blamer, President and CEO of Foote Cone & Belding Worldwide. Chris will be based in the New York office where he will serve on the FCB Worldwide Executive Council and report to Mr. Blamer. Most recently Chris had been EVP/Director of Development for Grey Worldwide North America.

"Chris is arguably the best new business person in our industry today. Without a doubt, he has the depth and breadth of knowledge, energy, connections and 'gentle' tenacity that will optimize FCB's new business efforts," stated Mr. Blamer in making the announcement.

Most recently, Chris had been EVP/Director of Development at Grey Worldwide North America. During the nine months he was at Grey, Chris was instrumental in achieving several new business wins which included Land's End and the global Manpower account, as well as playing a key role in helping to reposition the agency.

Prior to September 2004 when he joined Grey, Chris had been Director of Development at The Martin Agency since 1995, a period during which the agency enjoyed conspicuous success and growth which included such wins as UPS, Olympus, Kellogg's, the American Stock Exchange, NASCAR, Quiznos Sub, AXA Financial and Timberland, among others. Prior to joining The Martin Agency, from 1989 to 1995 Chris headed up marketing communications for the small appliance giant, Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex, Inc. Before going client-side with HamiltonBeach, Chris spent six years in account management for various Richmond-based advertising agencies.

Chris, age 45, serves on the 4A's New Business Committee and has held various Board-level positions with the Richmond chapter of the American Marketing Association and the Advertising Club of Richmond. Chris is also a regular guest speaker at the VCU Ad Center. A graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Chris and his wife, Carol, and their two children currently reside between Glen Allen, Virginia and New York City.
