Excuse. Edward Nixon has been having health issues for sometime. This is not the first event he misses in his "busy" schedule. Anyway, he is the Chairman, why would the trip suffer on account of this? Oh brother! We are in bad shape if the future of this company is tied to the health of an 83 year old man who started going down hill a few years ago. He has even admitted that he is not what he used to be. Get over it. Cancel the trip!? Sounds like an excuse to me. If one has a product, and one has a team, you do not cancel such an important trip because the Chairman is sick. Excuses, excuses, excuses. But this excuse is one I didn't encounter before. ("The dog ate my homework" kinda thing). Oh, brother ....!

I believe Nixon joined the board due to his China connections and nothing more. He is not running the company. At 83 I don't see him working on a domestic strategy to grow sales in the US. His entire resume speaks volumes to experience and history in China. Without him being able to travel to China, the company will probably shift focus to other markets until such time he is able. Not necessarily a bad thing. This product is proven and is viable. When Nixon is able to travel, I would assume he jumps back in the saddle and makes the introductions and connections that can lead to sales.
